Commercial Vehicle Safety

Transport Services wants every driver on the road to be aware of commercial vehicle safety. Your safety is important to us.

Commercial vehicles include buses, tractor trailers, dump trucks and/or equipment. Because commercial vehicles are larger and heavier than passenger cars and light trucks, a different level of awareness is required.

  • Allow adequate space for manoeuvring as commercial vehicles need longer distances for slowing down, stopping, changing lanes, accelerating and taking wider turns.
  • Avoid blind spots and danger zones which include the front, rear and sides of the commercial vehicle.
  • Prepare to stabilize your vehicle against wind turbulence and gusts created by commercial vehicles.
  • Maintain a safe following distance to ensure adequate visibility around commercial vehicles.
  • Prepare for reduced visibility when commercial vehicles operate during dusty or snowy road conditions.

Increase your safety and prevent crashes — drive with commercial vehicle safety in mind.
